Gyor city visual identity

Background
The Municipality of Gyor launched an open call to redesign the city’s visual identity. Gyor is defined by its distinctive character: a rich Baroque inner city, the presence of three rivers flowing through the urban fabric, and an overall sense of uniqueness and approachability that makes the city both memorable and lovable.

Project Overview
The brief called for the creation of a complete and future-proof city identity. The scope of the project ranged from digital touchpoints, such as the official website, to physical applications, including custom-designed urban furniture. The challenge was to translate Gyor’s historical heritage and natural features into a contemporary visual system that could function across a wide variety of contexts.

Results and Impact
The result was a clean and versatile visual identity capable of supporting both formal municipal communication and a more modern, city-facing presence. The system was designed to be flexible, scalable, and long-lasting. Although the competition concluded without a selected winner and the identity was ultimately not implemented, the project stands as a comprehensive exploration of urban branding and large-scale identity design.
